Clayton Man Becomes First Delaware Lottery Player to Win $300,000 Top Prize in LUCKY X 50 Instant Game
DOVER, Del. (Oct. 7, 2026) — A 55-year-old Clayton resident who works every day to ensure customers are “top priority” when it comes to service recently experienced personally how it feels to be “at the top” himself! The service manager from Clayton won the top prize of $300,000 playing the Delaware Lottery LUCKY X 50 Instant Game. Although the winner didn’t speak of having a lucky number, this development may elevate “3” to the top of his list, considering he purchased three tickets at $30 each and won three hundred thousand dollars.
When he claimed his top prize at Delaware Lottery Headquarters on Oct. 1, the man said he didn’t have any traditional way of playing the Lottery. However, he did share that he’s been playing for years for the same reason.
“I play to get the big winner,” he said.
When he discovered his prize, his first reaction was “Oh my God!” He then called his wife to deliver the great news.
The winner told Delaware Lottery Officials that he plans to use the prize money to pay bills and will enjoy being debt-free. Although he has been playing the Delaware Lottery for years and has won several hundred dollars, the man shared that this win was his first significant prize.
“We were thrilled when the first LUCKY X 50 top-prize winner came in to claim his $300,000 prize, and we wish him and his family all the best as they put this money to use in a meaningful way,” said Helene Keeley, director of the Delaware Lottery. “As always, the Delaware Lottery encourages everyone to play responsibly and enjoy the experience. The man, who opted not to release his name publicly, purchased his winning ticket at Royal Farms, located at 304 N. Dupont Blvd. in Smyrna.
The LUCKY X 50 Instant Game costs $30 and offers players the chance to win a top prize of $300,000. As of Oct. 1, one of the original three top prizes has been claimed. LUCKY X 50 tickets are available at Delaware Lottery Retailers statewide.
